CONCRETE FINISHES
Concrete surfaces come in several different finishes:
Smooth finish
The most common finish for interior concrete is a
smooth finish that is created by running a smooth trowel
over the surface.
Brush textured finish
Smooth finishes do not work well outside because water
will cause a smooth surface to become very slippery.
Therefore a rougher texture is applied to exterior
concrete with a brush textured finish to provide traction.
Exposed Aggregate finish
Exposed Aggregate is great for traction and has a much
rougher finish than the brush texture because the gravel
that makes up the concrete is exposed on the surface.
Stamped or Designed Concrete
Stamped or designed concrete offers yet another type of
surface that is cosmetic and can offer texture for traction.
This type of finish is used both indoors and outdoors.
